Sometimes a movie stands on it’s own just based on the story, but sometimes the music captures the essence of the story and makes it bigger and better. Here’s a list of films that included music that propelled them to a totally different level – maybe it created a mood, captured a moment in time, or just completely upped the adrenaline in the plot. Without the iconic soundtrack, I doubt this film would have been as successful. It definitely took it to another level.

Combining a rock band with a hip-hop act together on every song on the soundtrack was the first of its kind.

They went out clubbing and music set the atmosphere for their lifestyle.

Mods vs. rockers and The Who set the stage.

This film has a perfect soundtrack. Pretty much everyone at the time owned a copy.
