Out now, ‘Ekhodom’ features Hilton and Gianmaria Conti, Thievery Corporation’s longtime engineer, and was inspired by vintage, analog synthesizers, 1980s sci-fi soundtracks and electronic music from the time period coming out of Russia. Transmission received at Montserrat House from quadrant EKX. Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation, along with engineer Gianmaria Conti, have received a radio transmission broadcast from a previously unknown quadrant of the known universe. With the help of longtime collaborator Giovanni Condolini, they have traced the transmissions to a long-lost Russian-manned rocket that was sucked into a wormhole and crash-landed on planet Ekhodom. The transmissions tell the story of this newly discovered planet that is ruled by synthesizers. This is their story.
