London three-piece, Fassine are set to release a new single Kelby on December 4th, 2015. They have released the video for the single, which is directed by Lily Baldwin, produced by Sam Feder and styled by Olimpia Dior. The video is set in New York and stars transgender model Edie Charles – watch it below via YouTube.
Kelby is the follow-up to their recent debut Sunshine, released in July and came with three distinct mixes from Julien Mier, Thirftworks and Jazzanova’s Alexander Barck & Comixxx.
In the band’s own words “Kelby is an ascent to certification, a fear of desolation that breaks into euphoric discovery”. From shadowing claustrophobia to expansive skies, a stunning video titled ‘Chase’, from director Lily Baldwin, producer Sam Feder, stylist Olimpia Dior and starring model Edie Charles, accompanies the track.
Lyrically dark and musically complex, the group has cinematic qualities of UNKLE and Berlin-era Bowie. Fassine’s sound is one of striking imagery that dares the listener to enter the group’s own stark world. The new single will be available to download and sets the tone for their debut album ‘Dialectik’, set for release early 2016.
The band will also feature on artist Robot Koch’s haunting new track Spine, whilst their track Bring the Weight Down from their forthcoming album, is used as the backdrop of Sky Atlantic’s hit US show The Following.
Fassine will play a London show at The Sebright Arms in Bethnal Green on Saturday the 7th of November, with more dates be announced soon.
