Toronto power-popsters, The Seams, have released the video for their track Seeds, which is lifted from their debut album ‘Meet The Seams’. The band features members of WISHFake Palms, and Elsa, and are newly signed to Hand Drawn Dracula. You might be into them if you’re a fan of 90s Brit-Pop and guitar jangle pop. “Lyrically, Seeds is all about guarding yourself, whether it’s love or friendship or any aspect of your life when interacting with people. Everyone feels it on a daily basis and its all a part of life. But in the end those seeds you’ve sown might mean less than you know.” – Kyle Connolly (vocals/guitar)

The Seams blend influences of potent, straight-forward guitar bands from the 60’s-90’s. Through their unabashed love of structure and melody, their collective strengths shine through the songs they create. It is the sound of doing what you love and know best. Their first album ‘Meet The Seams’ is a raw introduction to their electric side. Drawing heavily from 60’s AM radio to 80’s and 90’s college rock and brit pop the songs bring to mind a young REM or GBV, even Oasis at their most brash. The band’s core songwriting duo of Kyle Connolly and Jonathan Rogers have departed from the reverb soaked melancholy of their main projects (Wish, Elsa, respectively) to a clean energy that is something more than the sum of its parts. Recorded by Josh Korody (Beliefs, Dilly Dally, F*****d Up), the album’s clarity helps showcase the band’s true intent. Songs will always prevail!
