Dark indie-rock trio Deux Trois have shared their debut single Late Night Girls. Late Night Girls is the first track from the band’s upcoming EP ‘Health’. Watch the video clip for the track via YouTube below.
Pacey has a background in electronic production but became inspired by dark pop influence, heavy rhythm sections, and 80s analog synths while working on another project with fellow Deux Trois member Benjamin Nelson (of PS I Love You). Nadia and Benjamin continued working together and eventually added Ben Webb as guitarist, lending to each song a much needed boost in romanticism, noise, and potential for bled out ears. They have collaborated on a number of visual art and design projects, taking it upon themselves to pursue a vision of ‘total’ art for Pacey’s music. Since November 2017, Ben Webb has joined the band as guitarist, lending to each song a much needed boost in romanticism, noise, and potential for bled out ears.
Nadia on their debut track: “Sad, late-night masturbation has a home in the seedy underbelly of pop culture – but even though it comes hand in hand (lol) with hook-up culture, distracting yourself from FOMO, and (let’s be real) self-care, sad masturbation doesn’t have a fun pop anthem. How many more party songs about getting blackout drunk by breakfast or patting ourselves on the back for being the best consumers we can be, do we really need? If our culture is getting over gender and its construction, we should reclaim the acts, images, and ideas that constitute that culture’s shame. The single is what happens when three self-aware malcontents sit on the rampant, internet-induced loneliness of our times, and manage to preserve their sound. We’re past pop culture’s endless attempts to assimilate sex and gender into the confines it created over the course of the 20th century.”
