C.O.F.F.I.N (Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway) present their new single Think Bad. Alongside the release, the Aussie rockers have announced their sixth studio album, ‘Out in Oslo’, out September 18th via p(doom) records.

Out now on streaming platforms worldwide, Think Bad finds C.O.F.F.I.N pulling back from the wall-of-sound fury they’re known for in favor of a mid-paced, ZZ Top-toughened groove — proof the band’s still finding new gears twenty years in.

Frontman Ben Portnoy breaks down the track’s headspace:

“Think Bad describes the use of negativity to fuel forward motion. It’s about using hard thoughts as a compass, reminding yourself that not everything that feels good is good for you, while at the same time, understanding that the combined weight of cynicism and reckless behaviour can make the greatest losses.”

The single arrives with an amusement park-themed video of the band goofing around — watch it below.

About ‘Out in Oslo’

Produced by Declan Mehrtens (Amyl and The Sniffers), with vocals co-produced by Jason Whalley (Frenzal Rhomb), ‘Out in Oslo’ finds C.O.F.F.I.N at their most expansive and refined — grittier textures, bigger dynamics, and some of the band’s most adventurous songwriting yet. Sonically, it nods to the raw lineage of Coloured Balls, The Angels and AC/DC, filtered through the band’s own Northern Beaches lens and touching on Australian identity, community, environmentalism and injustice.

Having shared stages with Amyl and The Sniffers, Viagra Boys and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, C.O.F.F.I.N have grown from Manly Beaches upstarts into one of Australia’s most respected rock’n’roll exports. Their 2023 album ‘Australia Stops’ earned an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album and a National Live Music Award for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Album.

C.O.F.F.I.N is: Ben Portnoy (Lead Vocals / Drums), Abijah Rado (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Aaron Moss (Guitar / Vocals) & Steven ‘Kosty’ Kostogiannis (Bass / Vocals).
