Sacramento post-punk outfit False Flowers have released their latest two-song 7-inch, Secret Futures b/w a moody reimagining of the Adam and the Ants classic Beat My Guest. It’s the follow-up to their self-titled debut mini-LP, and it arrived July 3 via Strange Club Records, with UK distribution through No Front Teeth Records.
Recorded by Patrick Hills at Earthtone (the studio behind 7 Seconds, Tera Melos, and King Woman), the single leans into everything that makes False Flowers tick: dark atmosphere with a punk engine underneath. Secret Futures, written by guitarist Brian Hanover, digs into how easily we get distracted by the small stuff while the moments that actually matter slip by.
On the flip, the band takes on Adam and the Ants’ Beat My Guest and makes it unmistakably their own — catchy post-punk bones dressed in False Flowers’ signature gloom.
The band also dropped a self-produced music video for Secret Futures, which premiered July 10 on their YouTube channel.

About the Band
False Flowers is Lory Gil (Rad, Sick Burn) on keys and vocals, Brian Hanover (Hanover Saints, Whiskey Rebels, Union Hearts) on guitar and backing vocals, Conrad Melancon (Cold Trap, Mob Rule) on bass, and Craig Hancock (Rad, Sick Burn) on drums — four scene veterans with roughly a century of combined experience, who joined forces in February 2024 to build the sound you hear today. Expect horror movies, isolation, lost love, and true crime as lyrical touchstones, wrapped in post-punk and death-rock atmosphere.
