DJ Shadow announces 30th anniversary edition of ‘Endtroducing’ + Massive Fall tour

DJ Shadow is marking three decades of a record that basically rewired what a sample-based album could be.

DJ Shadow has announced a 30th anniversary edition of his acclaimed and beloved debut, ‘Endtroducing’. The reissue arrives September 18, 2026 via Mo’Wax / [PIAS] Recordings — thirty years (almost to the month) after the album’s original September 1996 release.

Still a landmark in instrumental hip-hop, ‘Endtroducing’ was named to numerous year-end best-of lists and went platinum in the U.K.

Recorded at DJ Shadow’s home studio and at Dan the Automator’s Glue Factory studio in San Francisco, the album is widely considered the first-ever album built entirely from samples — assembled using nothing but an Akai MPC60 MkII, a Technics SL-1200 turntable, and an Alesis ADAT tape recorder. Thirty years on, that’s still a wild flex.

Endtroducing 30th Anniversary Tour

DJ Shadow also heads out on the road this fall for a run of North American dates, hitting NYC, LA, Chicago, and plenty of stops in between, plus a London date to close things out.
