Some of us were just built loud. TRASH SOUND CONGLOMERATE’s new single Uncultured at the Best of Times is what happens when a lifetime of “were you raised in a barn?” finally gets put to a riff. It’s a power-pop gut-punch for anyone who’s ever been told to tone it down and simply couldn’t — an anthem for the stout-hearted and the incorrigibly themselves.

“I have literally never figured out how to be quiet in quiet places. I have been told to shut up at the spa for being my typical loud self. I’m at my loudest with a guitar in my hand, unfortunately, so people don’t even have a chance to tell me to hush,” says bassist Gwen Static. “This song isn’t a defence. It’s more throwing words back at the people who try to explain my life to me like it’s not mine.“

About Trash Sound Conglomerate

Wring out the history of punk rock like a soaked sponge, and Seattle’s Trash Sound Conglomerate is the mess that drips out. The trio — Kat Trash on guitar, Bogie behind the drums and cymbals, and Gwen Static on bass — trade off songwriting and vocal duties in equal measure, refusing to let any one voice run the show. Their sound ricochets between power-pop hooks, hardcore snarl, and full-tilt thrash without ever picking a lane.

Since forming in 2021, the band has racked up two EPs, two singles, and a full-length, with album number two, ‘Sophomore Slump’, on the way. Nobody fronts this band — the mic gets passed around like a hot potato. And if their inflatable stage dinosaur is missing from the show, something has gone very wrong.
