Confront the dichotomies of the human experience with Action Reaction music video – watch

Official record release show at Zebulon in Los Angeles on March 28 with Muscle Beach & Allison Wolfe (DJ set)

Los Angeles-based post-punk band Agender release their blistering third album, ‘Berserk,’ a sharp-edged, ferocious response to a world teetering on the brink. Alongside the album, they share the official music video for Action Reaction, a stark and stirring meditation on emotional push and pull. Celebrate ‘Berserk’ live in Los Angeles on March 28 at Zebulon with Muscle Beach and a DJ set from Allison Wolfe.

More than just a collection of songs, ‘Berserk’ is a sonic uprising—ten tracks that tear through post-punk, disco-punk, and schizo-synth-punk with unrelenting energy. Produced by David Scott Stone (LCD Soundsystem) and frontwoman Romy Hoffman, the album is a raw and unfiltered reflection of a society consumed by hyper-information, capitalism, and the illusion of self-improvement.

Hoffman describes Berserk as both an embrace of chaos and a rebellion against it. “Everyone’s trying to improve, to ‘do the work,’ but the conundrum is: there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism. This album is a snapshot of that dilemma, wrapped in something catchy enough to make you want to dance—or scream—a solution.”

The music video for Action Reaction—a monochrome, slow-burning visual shot on a frigid morning at Hermosa Beach—dives deep into the feeling of being pulled under. Directed by Hoffman and synth player Sara Rivas, the video captures the weight of emotional drowning, the struggle to hold on, and the stark simplicity of survival.

Since its formation as a solo project in 2011, Agender has evolved into a full-force four-piece featuring Hoffman, Cristy Michel (bass), Christy Greenwood (drums), and Sara Rivas (synth). Known for their biting satire and fearless observations, the band has built a reputation for intense live performances and an uncompromising sound that resonates with those who refuse to conform.

‘Berserk’ is out now. Join Agender at Zebulon in Los Angeles on March 28 for their official record release show.
