Andrew Bockner, designer, event planner and owner of outdoor furniture brand, Andrew Richard Designs, will launch a brand new, first of its kind gallery, STRUCK Contemporary on October 7th. STRUCK is set to carve new space for local and internationally renowned contemporary artists, including street and graffiti artists to showcase their work for the first time in Toronto. STRUCK provides a mainstay of works by contemporary art masters while also introducing Toronto to the never-before-shown upper echelon of today’s emerging and established talent. STRUCK is the long-awaited bridge between the old and new worlds of contemporary art, uniting the polished sensibilities of the traditional gallery, the modern street art movement and the blazing emerging art community under one roof.

The opening of STRUCK Contemporary paves the path towards an integrated and inclusive arts community in Toronto. Bockner provides a first-ever platform for pop-art legends of the past to meet the artistic trailblazers of the future. His approach is two-pronged; half of the gallery will feature internationally acclaimed pop-art masters such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Robert Rauschenberg, Mel Ramos, Keith Haring, and Damien Hirst. The other half will showcase a new league of forward-reaching artists whose current work builds upon past legacies, including leading edge street artists such as Banksy, and Shepard Fairey. STRUCK also features local emerging and established talent such as Samara Shuter and Matt Barnes whose work will debut at the Oct 7th opening.

STRUCK Contemporary is an access point for the thousands of newcomers eager to grow their knowledge and appreciation of art, as well as their collections. The gallery will offer pieces for sale starting as low as $250 to accommodate any art lover’s budget. It will act as a meeting place for seasoned collectors and casual art lovers to learn and experience a spectrum of quality works and to diversify their collections. STRUCK Contemporary aligns itself with the changing trends in today’s art world, spreading art with a larger message and wider social relevance – art that spans political, cultural, and economic divides to reach a wider, more diverse public.
