Arboretum Festival has announced its fifth anniversary edition, running Wednesday, August 17th to Saturday, August 20th in Ottawa, Canada. Along with downtown club shows and day-parties, the festival’s outdoor stages and festival village now take up annual residence on the grounds of Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Street).
Arboretum 2016’s festival village will feature vendors curated by Ottawa-based slow goods purveyor N-Product, beer garden by Beau’s and Beyond the Pale, pop-up performances, and many more details to be announced.
Arboretum 2016 revealed its first round of headliners including: Subpop heavy-weights Metz, breakout New York-based hiphop star Junglepussy, art-rap phenomenon Mykki Blanco, CanCon legends Sloan will perform their 1996 album ‘One Chord to Another’ in its entirety, and blogosphere fuzz heroes Dilly Dally. Other showcasing artists include Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara’s new electronic solo project, electronic innovators DOOMSQUAD, Ellen Page-endorsed rising stars Partner, Algonquin-Anishnabeg pow wow artists Kina Miniwag, psych-rockers Hooded Fang, Afro-Columbian soundsister Lido Pimienta, beloved indierock troubadour Shotgun Jimmie, and underground Toronto afro-futurist collective Above Top Secret.
A bunch of Canadian independent record labels also take part by showcasing their rosters with day-parties and club shows including Hand Drawn Dracula, Buzz Records, 88 Days of Fortune, You’ve Changed Records and more to be announced.

Early bird, all-Access passes
Early-bird, all-access $50 music passes (limited to 200), are on sale today on-line at Ticketfly.ca. Individual day passes, weekend passes, and showcase tickets will be released May 2016.
