Bagdad’s first body of work is a raw, powerful exploration of loss and enduring friendship, wrapped in dense, atmospheric guitar and unforgettable hooks. Their debut EP, ‘They Don’t Know,’ is here to take you on a journey through grief, nostalgia, and the moments that make us feel deeply human.
Hailing from Poland, Bagdad brings you a debut EP recorded in the summer of 2024 that marries explosive 90s grunge with the reflective tones of slowcore. Composed of guitarist/vocalist Franciszek Drobiński, bassist Wojciech Stach, and drummer Jakub Gadamski, the trio delivers an Eastern European flair that melds nostalgic melancholy with raw musical power.
Franciszek Drobiński reflects on the journey: “They Don’t Know has come quite a long way. The songs were basically ready more than two years ago, but due to personnel changes in the band, the whole process dragged on. When we entered the recording studio last summer, we weren’t contracted with any record label, so we had to take care of everything ourselves. Then it all fell into place, and by some twist of fate, we’re releasing this EP under a label from Houston, Texas, over five thousand miles from our hometown. It’s pretty crazy.”

To kick off the EP launch, Bagdad released their first single, Valley of Dry Bones. This gritty and hypnotic track channels the raw, angsty spirit of 90s grunge, inviting listeners into a world of brooding atmosphere and reflective intensity. More recently, the band shared Somewhere, Nowhere, a wistful exploration of regret and farewell, layered with uplifting riffs and haunting vocals. With bright, resonant guitar tones that underscore the bittersweet nature of lost love, Bagdad digs deep into the emotional spectrum for a truly memorable sonic experience.
