A Gritty Prelude to Their Debut EP ‘They Don’t Know’

EP Arrives March 27, 2025 via Rite Field Records

Polish rock band Bagdad introduce their latest single, Somewhere, Nowhere, a raw and deeply felt track that blends soaring guitar work with reflective lyricism. The song, out now, is the latest glimpse into their debut EP, ‘They Don’t Know,’ arriving March 27, 2025, via Rite Field Records.

A meditation on love lost and roads not taken, Somewhere, Nowhere pairs wistful vocals with bright yet melancholic guitars, capturing the band’s signature mix of grit and vulnerability. Franciszek Drobiński, Bagdad’s vocalist and guitarist, shares the song’s story:

“I wrote the music back in 2019, during my last year of high school, then forgot about it entirely. Three years later, I stumbled across the demo in my voice memos and decided to bring it back with new lyrics. It’s a simple breakup song, but also the first track we truly built together as a band—so it holds a special place in our hearts.”

They Don’t Know’ – A Nostalgic Fusion of Grunge & Slowcore

Recorded in the summer of 2024, ‘They Don’t Know’ blends the explosive guitars of 90s grunge with the introspective weight of slowcore. Bagdad’s distinct approach creates something both haunting and deeply immersive.

Their debut single, Valley of Dry Bones, introduced listeners to their atmospheric, brooding sound, setting the tone for what’s to come. A trio formed in Wrocław, Poland, Bagdad consists of:

  • Franciszek Drobiński – Guitar, Vocals
  • Wojciech Stach – Bass
  • Jakub Gadamski – Drums

Together, they craft music that balances quiet introspection with bursts of unfiltered intensity, drawing from Eastern European melancholia to create something uniquely their own.
