EXPLOSIVE NEW SINGLE “ETCH” OUT NOW

ON TOUR NEXT MONTH, INCLUDING SXSW DEBUT

Brooklyn’s Bedridden are ready to unleash their long-awaited debut album, ‘Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs,’ arriving April 11, 2025, via Julia’s War Recordings. Produced by Momma’s Aron Kobayashi Ritch and recorded at Studio G, the album is a raw, thrashing, and deeply personal collection of songs that navigate the chaos of adulthood.

The first taste of the record comes in the form of Etch, a song brimming with frustration, regret, and the thrill of imagined violence. Frontman Jack Riley delivers lyrics with a sneering edge, as guitars weave together like missed punches, all while the track teeters between somber melancholy and explosive hostility.

I wasn’t writing about heartbreak—I was writing about the temper it left behind,” says Riley. “I was dreaming of fighting, of winning, of defaming my competitor. This song doesn’t have a tonal center. It’s frantic, like that regretful fistfight I never got to have.

A BAND BUILT ON MOVEMENT AND MAYHEM

Bedridden first took shape in New Orleans, where Riley recruited bassist Sebastian Duzian and drummer Nicholas Pedroza to bring his fuzzed-out vision to life. Their 2023 EP Amateur Heartthrob caught fire with tracks like Clara’s Mouth and Soft Soap, blending elements of shoegaze, punk, and lo-fi indie. Now operating out of Brooklyn, the band has expanded, adding guitarist Wesley Wolffe to the lineup.

Their upcoming debut LP takes a deeper dive into themes of isolation, instability, and transformation—a sonic diary of reckless nights, misplaced rage, and coming-of-age anxieties. The album’s title was inspired by a cryptic astrology app notification Riley received, an eerie reflection of feeling tethered to others yet unable to move forward.

I was relying on people too much—my partner, my friends. I felt stuck, like I was just flying in circles,” Riley explains. This album is about that time.”

THE STORY BEHIND THE SOUND

Growing up is brutal—something Bedridden captures with searing honesty. Formed by Chicago-born Jack Riley, the band pulls from a patchwork of influences, from shoegaze and punk to ‘90s alt-rock. Their music is both deeply personal and outwardly chaotic, mirroring the uncertainty of young adulthood.

“I started Bedridden when I was couch-surfing at 21. I had no home, no direction. This album is about finding my footing while everything around me was falling apart.”

Each track on the album unpacks those experiences in its own way—whether it’s the frenzied frustration of Chainsaw, the self-loathing balladry of Uno, or the New Year’s Eve meltdown chronicled in MainStage.

And then there’s Ring Size, a closing track that grapples with the pressure of adulthood and the uncertainty of settling down. All my friends are getting married. Am I supposed to do that too? Or is it all pointless? Riley asks. At the end of the day, this record is me trying to figure out how to grow up. I’m not very good at it. But this is just the beginning.”
