There’s something undeniably special about the sound of a new track dropping, and I’m excited to share that SCHØØL is back with a fresh single titled Gardener. This isn’t just any release—it’s a deeply atmospheric, shoegaze melancholic ballad that effortlessly captures the mood of wistful evenings and rainy days.
Gardener is a taste of what’s to come from SCHØØL’s debut album, ‘I think my life has been ok,’ which will hit the shelves on September 5th via Géographie. The band, which came together in Paris in the fall of 2023, brings a creative energy that feels both nostalgic and invigorating. Fronted by Francis Mallari (Rendez-Vous) and supported by Erica Ashleson (Special Friend, Dog Park) on bass, Jack Moase (Liquid Face) on guitar, and Alex Battez (Marble Arch) on drums, SCHØØL is a group of musicians who turned a teenage dream into reality. Their sound nods to the 90s shoegaze scene, drawing inspiration from legends like Swirlies and Drop Nineteens, yet it’s all their own.
I’m inviting you to take an exclusive, private listen to the album preview, giving you a rare glimpse into the sonic landscape SCHØØL is crafting. It’s a journey through moods and memories—a reminder that sometimes, life is exactly as it should be, in all its complex beauty.
So, as we count down to both the single’s launch and the album release, let’s dream up some creative ways to celebrate this new chapter. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer to the genre, SCHØØL’s music is here to resonate with every beat of your heart.
Stay tuned for more updates and creative musings as we explore this new sonic adventure together.
