Born Ruffians share new video for ‘Don’t Live Up’

Born Ruffians have shared their video for the track Don’t Live Up, which is lifted from their forthcoming album ‘RUFF’.

Lead singer and guitarist, Luke Lalonde, had this to say about the video concept, “The video was meant to represent one version of something that isn’t quite what you might expect. The difference in perception versus reality.” Lalonde adds, “The song is about the idea that one’s ideas of what they need to achieve in order to be fulfilled/happy doesn’t always meet the expectations once you get there.” He credits director Jared Raab with the idea of using the monotonous cycle of touring citing it, “struck just the right chord with us.” Even so, the band is excited to hit the road in support of RUFF – see tour dates below.  Watch the video via YouTube below.

Earlier this month, Born Ruffians launched a 30-day video stream that lets fans peer into the strange and surrealist RUFF World. The goal of this ongoing experimental video project is to give their fans a taste of what is to come on their new album. The entire project takes twelve hours of VHS footage and stretches it down to one frame every two seconds in order to span the period of 30 days. That is just under 1.3 million images that will be displayed over the course of the month (43,200 images per day). Fans are encouraged to share these images on social media using the hashtag #watchRUFF. Watch the video stream here.

‘RUFF’ will be released in Canada via Paper Bag Records on October 2. Pre-order ‘RUFF’  via iTunes or CD and vinyl via Paper Bag Records.
