Bratmobile reissue debut on vinyl

bratmobile pottymouth lp

Bratmobile’s debut ‘Pottymouth’ is available on pink marble vinyl for the first time in over 10 years (and includes a digital download code) on November 18, 2014.

Bratmobile made their debut at 1991’s International Pop Underground convention and quickly took the Riot Grrrl underground by storm. The band released their debut album ‘Pottymouth’ in 1993, following a series of 7″ singles on labels like Homestead, K, Four Letter Words, Simple Machines and Twelve-Verse-Twelve. The band broke up in 1994, but reunited in 1999, and released two more albums on Lookout! Records. They played their last show in 2003. Take a listen to Cool Schmool, which is lifted from the album via Soundcloud below.

Critical praise for ‘Pottymouth’:

“Has any band ever done unalloyed, sneering contempt quite as witheringly as ‘Pottymouth’-era Bratmobile? “ – Stereogum

“We need more bands like Bratmobile, especially in this sexually regressive, overly commercialized MySpace-rock environment. ‘Pottymouth’ is a definitive riot grrrl record and essential listening for fans of indie rock and punk.” – James Elliott, Amoeba Records

“The album is like a slap in the face: it’s over before you realize what you’re feeling but its sting lasts a good long while.” – Trouser Press Record Guide

“…’Pottymouth’ was an album full of jittery agitations, quickly solidifying the group as one of the Pacific Northwest’s garage greats.” – The AV Club
