Captured Tracks have announced their Record Store Day 2014 releases that include Milk’n’Cookies, Cosmetics, Medicine, Skylon, Bok Bok and The Snow. This year RSD lands on April 19, and I am particularly hyped about the Medicine and The Snow releases. If Captured Tracks want to fire them my way, it would make this vinyl collector very happy indeed.
Three Captured Tracks artists, Dustin Payseur of Beach Fossils, Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing and Andreas Lagerström of Holograms, came together and recorded these two tracks under the name The Snow. Memory Loss and Joy of Life sound like of any one of the artists’ project in particular, but instead they have created their own sound. Listen to Memory Loss via Soundcloud below.
Medicine – Part Time Punks Live
After the August release of their new LP “To The Happy Few,” shoegaze pioneers Medicine continue to embellish their return from an 18 year hiatus with this Radio Session at Part Time Punks. Following their first show in nearly two decades, Medicine add to an already rich creative and sonic legacy which has seen singer Beth Thompson, guitarist/vocalist Brad Laner, and drummer Jim Goodall continually challenge the barriers of melody and noise in their LPs “Shot Forth Self Living” (1992), “The Buried Life” (1993) and “Her Highness” (1995). This very limited tri-color wax LP is only available for RSD!
