Yesterday was Record Store Day 2013 which brings out all the vinyl lovers for this one day event. It’s like Christmas for the record collector types. There are special limited edition releases, band performances, and overall love for independent record shops. Jack White was the “ambassador” for this year’s RSD since he is a big supporter of the vinyl format. At his record store in Nashville, he had a press set up that could record customers singing and press it straight to vinyl – read more about it here via the Toronto Sun. You can also watch this promo for Record Store Day featuring Jack White via Vimeo below (hit refresh if you don’t see the video – it is a bit finicky sometimes).

ADULT. Reissue Resuscitation And Release Covers Single
Detroit-based duo ADULT. are re-releasing their groundbreaking album, “Resuscitation” via Ghostly International on November 27th. This truly innovative album (and a Culture Addicts favourite) has never been available digitally, and the CD version has been out of print for a number of years so this is a must-have release for your collection. The reissue is available on double LP or as a digital release. Both versions come with four digital bonus tracks from the Resusciation era. I just picked it up this morning on pre-order from the Ghostly International online store.
Listen to Minors At Nite (Still Sick) lifted from “Resuscitation” via Soundcloud
When it was first released in 2001, “Resuscitation” was an pseudo introduction to the duo, collecting a bunch of songs on CD that had only previously been available on hard-to-find singles and EPs.
“We’ve wanted to re-release this album for some time,” says ADULT.’s Adam Lee Miller, “but we weren’t ready until now. We have some new material in the pipeline, and we thought this would be a nice way to reintroduce ourselves.”
Rescuscitation 2xLP* Tracklist:
A1. Lost Love
A2. Hand To Phone (Cordless Mix)
A3. Minors At Nite (Still Sick)
B1. New Object (Edit)
B2. Contagious
B3. Mouth To Mouth
B4. Nausea (Restructured)
C1. Pressure Suit
C2. Dispassionate Furniture (Reupholstered)
C3. Human Wreck (Radio Edit)
D1. Side-Swiped (Extended Mix)
D2. Your Lies
D3. Skinlike (Equation Mix)
* Includes 4 additional bonus tracks never before released
The new material mentioned by Miller are two cover songs for the tracks Shari Vari and 122 Hours of Fear which are available as a 7″ single and/or digitally on November 6th. 122 Hours of Fear was originally by The Screamers, sounds like it could have appeared on the soundtrack to their own horror movie. “The Screamers are a major influence for us,” Miller says, “and we first performed the song in February, at our first live show in two years.”
Shari Vari provides a look into the band’s past, as well as to their home city’s cultural heritage — it was originally by Sterling Jones and Paul Lesley, aka A Number of Names. Miller says, “We remixed it in 2001, [but] we were never satisfied with our remix, so we decided it would be fun to approach it as a cover and see if we could figure it out better.”
7″ Tracklist:
A. Shari Vari
B. 122 Hours of Fear
