Cathedral Bells have shared a new single, Undertow. The band’s Matt Messore detailed, “This track has actually been in the works for a few years. I imagined a riff that would be played on a 12 string acoustic guitar, and I went from there, working and creating what became Undertow. I envisioned layered vocals for this song, kind of a high and low melody. It all came together when I asked Kim Weldin of the band tape waves to do guest vocals for the track. The dreamy aspect of her voice added exactly what I wanted in order to finish the song.” Listen to Undertow via SoundCloud below.

Undertow single is out now digitally via BIRTHDIY, a net label from SPIRIT GOTH. It’s available via Bandcamp.
They say you can’t go home again, but for Matt Messore it took returning to his hometown of Cassadaga, Florida to discover a new path forward. After traveling across the country, Messore pursued his DIY bedroom pop leanings working as Cathedral Bells. Releasing their debut album ‘Velvet Spirit‘ on vinyl and digitally via Good Eye Records on March 6th.
Following the release of a debut, self-titled EP at the start of 2019, the band earned early praise from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine and FLOOD, drawing comparisons to DIIV, Chromatics and The Cure.Their latest single mines a similar sonic vein, with reverb-enveloped vocal melodies blending with bright synth hooks and dynamic guitar textures that at turns recall artists like The Jesus & Mary Chain, Wild Nothing and Cleaners From Venus.
