Whitby, Ontario’s Chastity have shared a new song and accompanying video from their upcoming album, ‘Home Made Satan’. The Girls I Know Don’t Think So video clip continues the narrative of the young boy from their previous video, Sun Poisoning, as if it were a continuous film. In this scene the video shifts to become more daring and political as the young boy stands in solidarity with a friend fighting for human rights that are under attack.

Frontman Brandon Williams shares about the concept behind the song, “Alexandra Kollontai (on the single cover) was a Marxist revolutionary. She was way ahead of her time. She fought for women’s equality in the workforce, universal maternity care and women’s advancement in education. She won. In 1920, Soviet Russia was the first country in the world to make abortion legal under women’s request. Homosexuality was decriminalized, sex work too. This was 100 years ago, it’s fucked how long it’s taken the rest of the world. Alexandra Kollontai helped to change the lives of millions of people. There may be voices similar to hers out there today. Are we listening?”

The new single follows the announcement of their North American Fall tour with DIIV starting October 12th in Phoenix. ‘Home Made Satan’, is due via Dine Alone Records and Captured Tracks. The LP is the second installment of a building trilogy, bringing a pop sensibility to the band’s catalog following their acclaimed 2018 debut ‘Death Lust‘. Recorded over the course of a couple weeks with his full live band in a small studio in London, Ontario, between a European tour with Fucked Up and a seven-week North American tour, Williams crafted an emotional and political concept record meant to capture voices that often go unrepresented. The album was cultivated by isolation and the paranoia that comes with it, with Williams producing the album like he would score a film, aiming to match the sounds on the album to the vision in his mind.
