Dead Stars shares latest single ‘Calm Punk’

Dead Stars

Dead StarsBrooklyn’s Dead Stars pairs crunchy, fuzzed-out guitars with catchy pop melodies for a sound that’s earned them comparisons to bands like Dinosaur Jr., Pavement, and Teenage Fanclub. After releasing their debut LP, ‘Slumber,’ last summer, the band returns with new single Calm Punk, which opens with a simple bass riff and builds to a big, anthemic chorus. You can hear the track via Soundcloud below.

Calm Punk will be available digitally next Tuesday (6/2) on iTunes & Bandcamp.

Having played last summer’s 4Knots Festival alongside Dinosaur Jr., Mac DeMarco, Speedy Ortiz & more and shared stages with acts like White Fence, Nude Beach, and Girlpool, Dead Stars kicks off a string of hometown dates with a single release show on June 4th at Brooklyn’s Alphaville (w/ Charly Bliss & more.) They also play the new Riis Park Beach Bazaar & Northside showcases next month – see below for all upcoming shows.
