Acclaimed artists DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist will bring their “Renegades of Rhythm” show to Verboten (54 N. 11th St, Brooklyn) on November 7th. The two turntablists will celebrate the legacy of hip-hop vanguard and Universal Zulu Nation founder Afrika Bambaataa, spinning vinyl pulled from Bambaataa’s historic collection, which is over 40,000 strong and permanently archived at Cornell University. This very special show features DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist spinning on six turntables and employing a variety of real-time effects.

Honey Dijon has also been confirmed as direct support for Jackmaster and Eats Everything at Output (74 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn) on November 8th for “Edible, A Party by Eats Everything”.

Tickets are on sale now for the Official RINSED After Hours Party on November 8th featuring Omar S. Location to be announced. As has come to be expected from RINSED parties, an unexpected location, aesthetics, and late night sets will occur.

In addition, Novation, the festival’s official hardware partner, and THUMP are teaming up to present a series of artist panels, which are open to the public and free to attend. The discussions will cover a diverse catalogue of topics, from music production to distribution, and will give attendees the chance to get insider tips in a Q&A session from their favorite BEMF artists and some of New York nightlife’s major players. The panels will take place from 4 pm – 7pm on November 8th at the Kinfolk 94 space in Williamsburg (94 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn). Admission is free, but priority will be given to BEMF ticket holders.

This year’s Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival is the first U.S. music festival activation with SoundCloud, the leading audio platform that gives users unprecedented access to the world’s largest community of music and audio creators. SoundCloud’s ongoing commitment to the emerging and established producer/creator community and its strong relationship with fans of electronic music make it an ideal partner for BEMF. An exclusive mix series will be available on the BEMF SoundCloud page and via the BEMF mobile app. The SoundCloud player will be woven into all BEMF media content.

BEMF is also proud to host the Soundcloud stage at Music Hall of Williamsburg both festival days.

Since it’s inception in 2008, BEMF has established itself as a NYC mainstay. An endemic and eclectic festival celebrating Brooklyn’s electronic musical landscape and proudly presenting both emerging and established artists from the Boroughs and beyond.
