Elephant Stone announce 15th anniversary release of ‘The Seven Seas’ LP

Montreal psych-rockers Elephant Stone have shared Savage Soul (2024 Remix), the latest single from the upcoming 15th anniversary release of their 2009 Polaris Music Prize-nominated debut album, ‘The Seven Seas’. The remix revitalizes the 2010’s ‘The Glass Box’ EP deep cut with a driving groove, arpeggiated guitar, virtuosic sitar, tabla, fuller bass, and enhanced dynamics. This sonically expanded version breathes new life into the original. 

According to band leader Rishi Dhir: “Our 2010 release, The Glass Box EP, was written as a quick follow-up to our debut album, ‘The Seven Seas’ which documented an intense period of change in my life—marriage, returning to India after a decade, loss, and self-discovery. ‘The Glass Box,’ and especially the song ‘Savage Soul,’ saw me embracing this change and the profound sense of purpose I found in becoming a father.”

Available on vinyl for the first time, this special Deluxe Remastered Edition, brought to you by Little Cloud Records, will be released September 27, 2024. This edition features a double gatefold LP, including a fully remastered version of The Seven Seas and a brand-new mix of their 2010 sophomore release, ‘The Glass Box’. Additionally, it includes exclusive demos and an outtake from ‘The Seven Seas,’ including the first single Lullabye. This follows the release of their recent album ‘Back Into The Dream.’

For the past 15 years, Rishi Dhir’s leadership and collaborations with icons such as Beck, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and The Black Angels have shaped Elephant Stone’s unique sound. With Dhir’s mastery on the sitar, the band’s music elevates beyond mere sound, presenting listeners with deep reflections on life’s myriad emotions.
