Vancouver trio Fake Shark has announced their new single, Something Special, which will be available this Friday, May 13 via Light Organ Records. The track is the follow up to their 2015 single,
Cheap Thrills, and it was produced by vocalist/songwriter Kevvy, and mixed by Hot Hot Heat / Mounties / Fur Trade frontman Steve Bays, guitarist Louis Wu and bassist Tony Dallas drive the band’s innate ability to create infectious grooves and memorable hooks. Take a listen to Something Special via Soundcloud below.

Of the single, Kevvy said, “I wrote this song making fun of the fact that social media has given everybody a voice, and how a lot of people feel they deserve fame and popularity, regardless of talent. It’s just real sarcastic, commenting on a world where even your grandma is hash tagging her instagrams (instagrandma), hoping to get more followers, but why?”

The single will be supported by a cross-Canada tour, which kicks off this Monday, May 16, in Toronto and runs through Edmonton, on May 29, with a special hometown celebration in Vancouver, June 22 at 604 Studios.
