Philadelphia indie rockers Fib are thrilled to unveil PS, the second single from their debut album ‘Heavy Lifting’ – set to drop on April 25, 2025 via the ever-innovative Julia’s War Recordings.

On PS, Fib take a reflective detour: ninety seconds of mellow, brightly toned guitars exploring a fractured relationship and heartfelt pleas for change, before erupting into a cascade of post-punk chord progressions. Vocalist Gage Nelson muses, “Need some help getting well / but I can’t see it getting better on its own.” The track is paired with a mesmerizing, lo-fi official music video, where trippy animations and haunting Philly cityscapes intertwine, all crafted by Cooper Beaupre, Sebastian Nicholson, Logan Adam, and Gage Nelson.

“P.S. is our love letter to pop and rock and roll – full of catchy riffs, infectious melodies, and playful hooks,” Fib explain. “It’s a fun breakaway from our darker, esoteric tunes. This song practically wrote itself in about 30 minutes in our old basement.”

Last month, Fib also released Mutuals, a track pulsing with textured rhythms and jubilant, intricate riffs. In it, Gage Nelson delves into unrequited love, bittersweet regrets, and the unspoken depths of emotion. Mutuals marked a turning point in our songwriting, setting the tone for the record with its high-reaching melodies and rapid transitions. It’s a testament to our mission: crafting songs that are as beautiful as they are complex.

When ‘Heavy Lifting’ was announced, Douglas Dulgarian – founder of Julia’s War Recordings and bandleader of They Are Gutting A Body of Water – summed it up perfectly on Instagram: “Fib is free jazz in an era where everything feels cookie cutter. Their sound is unpredictable, wonderfully unique, and their live shows are nothing short of insane.”

Since debuting in 2021 with their self-titled tape featuring fan-favourite Bedside, Fib have been shaking up the indie rock scene. Now, with ‘Heavy Lifting,’ they’re trading in their lo-fi beginnings for a more refined, expansive sound. Composed of Gage Nelson (vocals, guitar), Damien Nicholson (guitar), Logan Adam (bass), and Charlie Libby Watt (drums, production), the band fuses post-punk energy with poppy hooks for an experience that’s both adventurous and accessible.
