The Green Seed release new video

The Green Seed

Birmingham based hip-hop collective, The Green Seed, have released their new video  for the track Gotchoo, which was shot on locations around Birmingham and rural parts of Alabama. Directed by Petros who is well known for his work with TV on the Radio, Ellie Gouldingand Foo Fighters, the video radiates an eclectic vibe with psychedelic elements and infectious imagery. Viewers will notice that the 1-800 number (1-844-372-7386) featured in the video is the same one featured in their late-night infomercials —fans can call and listen to the crazy message and even leave a message of their own. Watch the video for a track that is a solid throwback / head nod to fine 90’s hip-hop like Pharcyde, De La Soul and Black Sheep below via YouTube.

“The Gotchoo video is a small sample of the energy we bring to every facet of our music,” The Green Seed said over email. “From the writing, to the performances, to the visual representation, we want to exude high level energy and creativity. We appreciate Petro (director) for helping us bring that to the forefront.”

The Green Seed released their debut album ‘Drapetomania’ on July 15, 2014 via Communicating Vessels. The album is brimming with lyrics of social awareness courtesy of emcees R-Tist and COMPLET, the stabbing attacks of dynamic DJ duo FX and Jeff C, and a lush sound world layered with rich textures and trunk-rattling beats. The Birmingham hip-hop four piece had ‘Drapetomania’ exclusively streamed for all to hear via SPIN, who called it “the blend of soul, laughter, and guts.”
