Gringo Star is back with a dreamy new track, I Sleep To Dream, from their upcoming album, ‘Sweethearts,’ set to drop May 2nd on Dizzybird Records. This second offering comes with a captivating video crafted by Searing Sun and Dash Studio, featuring mesmerizing animation by George Baker III.
Nick Furgiuele explains to Magnet Magazine that the song is “a cautionary tale about the benefits of no expectations” – a reminder that sometimes you’ve got to let go and be open to life’s pleasant surprises.
‘Sweethearts’ marks the band’s second album since the COVID era, inviting us to step back into a time that felt simpler and a little happier, even as a bittersweet melancholy weaves through the tunes. Their previous single, Blood Moon, radiated peaceful optimism, and this new collection promises even more layers of complexity and nuance with every listen.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2007 – when Atlanta’s Creative Loafing crowned them the city’s best live rock band – Gringo Star has been celebrated for their electrifying performances and musical versatility. With the Furgiuele brothers at the helm, along with guitarist/vocalist Josh Longino and drummer Mario Colangelo, they’ve consistently reinvented themselves, never settling into a predictable groove. Sharing stages with legends from The Killers to Cat Power and The Zombies, they prove that authenticity and evolution are the keys to longevity in a fast-changing music scene.
This isn’t just another release – it’s a call to rediscover the deep emotions and connections that unite us all. So if you’re ready to be swept away by a wave of sound that’s as intricate as it is infectious, it’s time to dive into Gringo Star’s world.
