The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have shared the video for their latest single Kelly<\/em>. It was shot by the band’s friend and longtime collaborator, Art Boonparn. Check out\u00a0the video via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

The band also recently released a deluxe edition of their 2014 LP ‘Days of Abandon,’ with 5 bonus tracks. You can listen to one of these bonus tracks, Summer of Dreams<\/em>\u00a0here<\/a>. You can buy the deluxe album right now via iTunes<\/a> or listen to it on Spotify<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded at new Greenpoint studio House Under Magic which is owned by longtime Pains cohort Danny Taylor (ZaZa). Produced by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Patrick Wolf, Cloud Boat) and mixed by Charlie Hugall at London’s Engine Room (Swim Deep, Florence And the Machine). The new record is the band’s most musically sophisticated to date, channeling the gilded pop optimism of bands like Aztec Camera, The House of Love and The Lightning Seeds, while maintaining The Pains’ penchant for earworm melodies and emotional candor.<\/p>\n

“This album was a chance to push beyond Belong’s universal style of songwriting into something that was far more personal and true to my ideals,” says Kip Berman. “I wanted the music to be joyful, lush and full of possibility, even if the subjects were often more painful to confront.”<\/p>\n

The album artwork prominently features the work of newly celebrated South Korean artist Lee Jinju’s work The Material of Mind.<\/p>\n

The band is currently on tour and will join back up with The New Pornographers for another run of dates in November. On the Fall tour, the band will also sell a limited edition vinyl 10″ called ‘Abandonment Issue’ featuring the 5 bonus tracks from the digital deluxe version of the album – you can also pre-order that release directly from the Pains’ web store now<\/a>.<\/p>\n
