French-born musician Le Volume Courbe recently released a brand new double A-side single\u00a0‘The House \/ Monte Dans Mon Ambulance’\u00a0via\u00a0Ring The Alarm<\/a>. Now,\u00a0she has shared the video for\u00a0The House<\/a><\/em>, which was directed by\u00a0Philip Smiley. The video depicts singer\u00a0Charlotte Marionneau as she’s stalked by a\u00a0shadowy\u00a0figure\u00a0– watch it\u00a0via\u00a0YouTube below.<\/p>\n

Charlotte tells The FADER “the song is about the house I lived in with Kevin [Shields] and his seven chinchillas years ago and despite us being inspired and creative in this house, it had an energy which I didn’t like. After being raised in a small town in Pays de la Loire, French-born Charlotte Marionneau (aka Le Volume Courbe – meaning “the volume curve”) journeyed across the English Channel to London. Settling in England, Charlotte began composing and making tracks, receiving vital encouragement from musicians like\u00a0Hope\u00a0Sandoval, Kevin Shields, David Roback\u00a0and\u00a0Colm O’Ciosoig, all of whom contributed to her debut album “I killed by best friend” (Honest Jons\/Astralwerks).<\/p>\n

Ring The Alarm releases\u00a0her\u00a0double A side single “The House \/ Monte Dans Mon Ambulance”, mixed by\u00a0John Parish (Eels, PJ Harvey). Charlotte recorded the A side The House<\/em> with her friends and band: Melanie Draisey, Chris Mackin, Theodore Hall, Lascelle Gordon, Barney Slater and\u00a0Kevin Shields\u00a0(of\u00a0My Bloody Valentine). The House<\/em> is a whimsically poetic song with toy gun sounds and soaring strings. The AA side Monte Dans Mon Ambulance<\/em> is an elegy conveyed by Charlotte’s eerily beautiful vocals and the piano play of Martin Duffy (Felt, Primal Scream).<\/p>\n
