\"AWAndy Warhol Revisited<\/a>\u00a0opens in Toronto today and gives you the\u00a0opportunity to view one of the world\u2019s largest collections of original Warhol prints and paintings.\u00a0Located in a 4,200 square foot pop-up gallery space at\u00a077\u00a0Bloor Street West (it used to be the Guess storefront in Yorkville). They cleansed the Guess-ness out of the place, and called in DesignAgency to help transform the space into a gallery with a bit of a R’n’R aesthetic. \u00a0

\"FullSizeRender-4\"<\/a>Los-Angeles based\u00a0Revolver Gallery<\/a>,\u00a0who are hosting and curating Andy Warhol Revisited, which\u00a0includes portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Mao, Mickey Mouse, Queen Elizabeth, the Dollar Sign Canvas, the Campbell\u2019s Soup Cans, a rare series of prints of John Gotti commissioned by the\u00a0New York Times<\/em>\u00a0and many more. They\u00a0will rotate more than 120 historic Warhol pieces throughout the exhibit\u2019s six-month run.<\/p>\n

“I can\u2019t wait to share my passion for Andy Warhol and his incredible work through this exhibition in my hometown of Toronto, a city that I love and respect,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Ron Rivlin, founder of Revolver Gallery. \u201cWarhol was a truly powerful artist, his work still resonates with so many people \u2013 he made accessible art that speaks directly to our admiration of popular culture, to both the mundane and iconic elements of it<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"FullSizeRender\"<\/a>We were able to check out the exhibit and space, and chat with Ryland Behrens, the gallery Director. He’s such an interesting guy, his knowledge of Warhol is unbelievable, and he’s super nice. If you see him at the exhibition or around the city, make sure to welcome him to Toronto. That’s Ryland\u00a0standing next to his favourite piece in the exhibit – it\u00a0was\u00a0my favourite as well. It’s titled ‘Shadow’ and is part of the series that is the\u00a0closest Warhol got to the abstract expressionist group. This piece is signed and inscribed \u2018Merry Christmas Halston\u2019 on the back and signed and dated \u2018Andy Warhol \/77\u2032.<\/p>\n

The exhibit will be open to the public daily beginning\u00a0Wednesday, July 1. Open Tuesdays through Sundays from 10am to 8pm from July 1 until December 31, 2015, admission to Andy Warhol Revisited is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+), $5 for students (full-time with ID) and youth (6 to 17), kids (under 5) free\u00a0– and 20 per cent off\u00a0for\u00a0groups\u00a0of 10 or more.
