You Say Party\u00a0will release their first new album in six years on February 12th. The band will be celebrating the release of\u00a0You Say Party with\u00a0album release parties in\u00a0Toronto]\u00a0on February 12th at\u00a0Milk Glass\u00a0(Facebook event<\/a>)\u00a0and in\u00a0Vancouver\u00a0on February 20th at The Lido\u00a0(Facebook event<\/a>). \u00a0Both events are free of charge.<\/p>\n

In 2004, You Say Party played their first punk show in a church basement outside\u00a0Vancouver, BC. Four years later, they were touring China and Japan on the strength of two acclaimed albums, 2005’s ‘Hit the Floor!’\u00a0<\/em>and 2007’s ‘Lose All Time’. They shifted from new wave-punk into indie\u00a0pop rock and were poised for breakout, mainstream success with 2009’s award-winning\u00a0‘<\/strong>XXXX’\u00a0when tragedy struck. Drummer\u00a0Devon Clifford\u00a0collapsed on stage and died suddenly. You Say Party (Becky Ninkovic,\u00a0Stephen O’Shea,\u00a0Krista Loewen, and\u00a0Derek Adam) reunited in 2012 and have spent the last four years slow dancing towards this moment.<\/p>\n

You Say Party’s new sound is more expansive and experimental, and while it offers a nod to their past, their legion of fans, and their journey to this moment, it’s also a map pointing the way forward.<\/p>\n
