Arboretum Festival\u00a0has\u00a0announced its fifth anniversary edition, running Wednesday, August 17th\u00a0to Saturday, August 20th in Ottawa, Canada.\u00a0Along with downtown club shows and day-parties, the festival’s outdoor stages and festival village now take up annual residence on the grounds of\u00a0<\/strong>Ottawa City Hall\u00a0(110 Laurier Street).<\/p>\n

Arboretum 2016’s festival village will feature vendors curated by Ottawa-based slow goods purveyor\u00a0N-Product, beer garden by\u00a0Beau’s\u00a0and\u00a0Beyond the Pale, pop-up performances, and many more details to be announced.<\/p>\n

Arboretum 2016 revealed\u00a0its first round of headliners including:\u00a0Subpop\u00a0heavy-weights\u00a0Metz, breakout New York-based hiphop star\u00a0Junglepussy, art-rap phenomenon\u00a0Mykki Blanco, CanCon legends\u00a0Sloan\u00a0will\u00a0perform their 1996 album ‘One Chord to Another’ in its entirety, and blogosphere fuzz heroes\u00a0Dilly Dally.\u00a0Other showcasing artists include\u00a0Arcade Fire\u00a0drummer\u00a0Jeremy Gara’s\u00a0new electronic solo project, electronic innovators\u00a0DOOMSQUAD, Ellen Page-endorsed rising stars\u00a0Partner,\u00a0Algonquin-Anishnabeg pow wow artists\u00a0Kina Miniwag, psych-rockers\u00a0Hooded Fang,\u00a0Afro-Columbian soundsister\u00a0\u00a0Lido Pimienta, beloved indierock troubadour\u00a0Shotgun Jimmie, and underground Toronto afro-futurist collective\u00a0Above Top Secret.<\/p>\n

A bunch\u00a0of Canadian independent record labels also take part\u00a0by\u00a0showcasing their rosters with day-parties and club shows including\u00a0Hand Drawn Dracula,\u00a0Buzz Records,\u00a088 Days of Fortune,\u00a0You’ve Changed Records\u00a0and more to be announced.<\/p>\n

A second announcement will follow in May outlining local artists,\u00a0<\/strong>additional headliners and acts, cultural talks, industry events, our restaurant fundraising showcase, festival village details, and much more!<\/p>\n
