Red Bull Music Academy presents\u00a0The Note<\/em>, a new digital television series that uncovers and examines the vital creative crossroads and engrossing personal journeys that have and continue to shape our sonic landscape in profound ways. Combining narrative journalism and unparalleled musical expertise,\u00a0The Note<\/em>\u00a0brings to life the untold stories of the moments and creative minds that changed music forever.<\/p>\n

The first season of\u00a0The Note<\/em>\u00a0includes four episodes that will be released weekly on Tuesdays and features documentaries about Eddie\u00a0Palmieri\u0092spolitically-charged Latin-funk masterpiece\u00a0Harlem River Drive<\/em>; the pioneering artist and engineer collaboration E.A.T. (Experiments in Art & Technology); and Chicago\u0092s Disco Demolition Night. EPISODE 1 –\u00a0ALEX ROSNER: SHAPING THE SOUND OF NEW YORK<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first episode of\u00a0The Note<\/em>\u00a0is centered\u00a0around\u00a0sound designer Alex\u00a0Rosner. He was the sonic architect and guru of some of NYC\u0092s most iconic clubs but he is perhaps most notable for his long relationship with David Mancuso of The Loft.\u00a0Alex\u00a0Rosner: Shaping The Sound Of New York<\/em>\u00a0is an intimate portrayal of the\u00a0soundsystem\u00a0builder. The episode takes a look at his fascinating life story, and how\u00a0Rosner\u2014and others like him\u2014fundamentally changed the way we experience dance music forever via their\u00a0soundsystem\u00a0designs for iconic clubs like the Loft, Studio 54 and more.<\/p>\n

EPISODE 2 –\u00a0EDDIE PALMIERI: A REVOLUTION ON HARLEM RIVER DRIVE<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"EDDIE<\/p>\n

Eddie\u00a0Palmieri\u0092’s\u00a0landmark 1971 album\u00a0Harlem River Drive\u00a0<\/em>will be the focus of the second episode of\u00a0The Note<\/em>. In an era marked by a feeling of social unrest and economic distress, the album\u2014marrying Latin, soul, funk and jazz with socially conscious tales of the inner city\u2014is as relevant today as it was 45 years ago.<\/p>\n

Eddie\u00a0Palmieri: A Revolution On Harlem River Drive<\/em>\u00a0will be released on Tuesday, May 24. Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York\u2014the acclaimed month-long music series\u2014will also celebrate the album with a free outdoor concert on Saturday, May 21.\u00a0Eddie\u00a0Palmieri\u0092s\u00a0Harlem River Drive<\/em>\u00a0Revisited<\/a>\u00a0will feature\u00a0Palmieri\u00a0and his band recreating the album during a show at Historic Harlem Parks\/Richard Rogers Amphitheatre at Marcus Garvey Park. EPISODE 3 –\u00a0E.A.T.: ENGINEERS, THE AVANT-GARDE AND\u00a0A TENNIS\u00a0COURT<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Art and engineering converged in mid-\u009260s New York City under the banner E.A.T.\u2013a watershed meeting of the exploratory minds of Bell Labs research facility founder Billy\u00a0Kluver, composer John Cage, artist Robert Rauschenberg and more that forever altered our perception of technology\u0092s relationship to art and music.\u00a0E.A .T.: Engineers, The Avant-Garde And\u00a0A Tennis\u00a0Court<\/em>\u00a0will be released on Tuesday, May 31.<\/p>\n

Disco Demolition: After The Fire, A Chicago Renaissance<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is the final episode of the season, premiering on Tuesday, June 7. At the height of the anti-disco movement in the late 1970s, Chicago rock radio host Steve Dahl devised one of the most infamous promotional events in pop culture history, and in doing so unwittingly set the stage for a dance music revolution.<\/p>\n
