This song is about the cruel realisation that you don&#8217;t really know how much or if you can give yourself to a new love story. I was very consciously aware of the rules of this game and of how this knowledge was disabling any feelings of hope or freedom I would formerly experience. In other words, overwhelming skepticism was filling in for innocence.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tango With Lions have been one of Greece&#8217;s biggest indie\/folk bands since 2010. Their debut album, <a href=\"http:\/\/sable.madmimi.com\/c\/18286?id=140306.5429.1.08cd9038e5a2c0a18f16eb02cb79f889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Verba Time<\/a>, has received enthusiastic reviews and the single <em><a href=\"http:\/\/sable.madmimi.com\/c\/18286?id=140306.5430.1.d0775824ad9248eb65387166fca69c41\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In A Bar<\/a><\/em> with over 30 million views \u2013 has been one of YouTube&#8217;s most-played Greek songs.<\/p>\n<p>The staggeringly talented Greek singer\/songwriter Katerina Papachristou and her band Tango With Lions return after five years of absence from discography with new album, &#8216;The Light&#8217;, out January 19th via Inner Ear Records. It&#8217;s the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/sable.madmimi.com\/c\/18286?id=140306.5431.1.0759e4965fa1abfdc9e6202db0f7e757\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;A Long Walk&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The Light&#8217; documents a desire to emerge towards the light through nine stories-questionmarks of introspection. Stories of separation, pleasures, deconstruction that motivate either nihilism and sinking into darkness, either excessive optimism or the acceptance that darkness and light can steadily coexist in music. This natural coexistence is the thread that unites the songs of &#8220;The Light&#8221; musically and lyrically. Nine songs, different in style, reaffirm that the atmosphere in Tango With Lions&#8217; music is created through images that lure the music, with the lyrics being the key link.<\/p>\n<p>The album began to take shape in 2015 and was completed in the summer of 2017. It was recorded at SCA studio with sound engineer and band member Thodoris Zefkilis, with additional recordings from AKRON studio, where it all began with sound engineer Vangelis Fampas.
