If you have lots of cash to spare, we’ve got news on some prices for super collectable vinyl. Top-end prices continue to rise in the vinyl collectors market as ever reflected in Discogs latest\u00a0‘Top 30 Most Expensive<\/a>‘\u00a0records\u00a0chart for the Discogs Marketplace over the month of May. \u00a0The complete list for May 2019 can be viewed on the\u00a0Discogs Blog<\/a>, while the following are the highest-priced records sold this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2002,\u00a0R\u00f6yksopp\u00a0pressed an ultra-limited edition of their double-LP\u00a0‘Melody A.M.,’ with just 100 copies pressed. The Norwegian electronic duo asked Banksy to hand spray paint each cover. \u00a0A copy\u00a0sold for an incredible $6,962.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Placing second, a rare 7″ 45 RPM promotional copy of Johnny and the Brothers of Soul’s\u00a0Goodbye, Sam<\/em>\u00a0from 1971 sold for a standout $3,999. \u00a0Brothers of Soul\u00a0was a soul trio composed of\u00a0Fred Bridges, Richard Knight, and Robert Eaton, who were also a songwriting team involved with around 50 singles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of the rarest\u00a0ABBA\u00a0record ever pressed landed in the number three spot selling for $3,879. It’s a\u00a0red 12-inch maxi-single<\/a>\u00a0recorded for manager\u00a0Stig Anderson<\/a>‘s 50th birthday. This specific copy even had Anderson’s signature, from an event in his hometown where he signed 100 of the singles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
