Long Winter\u00a0has announced the third event of its 2019-2020 series that will take place at the\u00a0Gladstone Hotel on January 11. This special edition of Long Winter celebrates the 1 year anniversary of\u00a0Tea Base, a politicized\u00a0DIY community art space tucked away in the basement of Chinatown Centre!\u00a0
\u00a0
Co-curating art as Tea Base, Hannia Cheng and jes sachse will be transforming the historic Gladstone Hotel into a tapestry of public installations including\u00a0Tea Room<\/em>,\u00a0Smash Corner<\/em>\u00a0(Super Smash Brother Ultimate),\u00a0Mahjong Room<\/em>,\u00a0Karaoke Room<\/em>, and\u00a0\u201cEclipse Cypher: Long Lost Winter\u201d<\/em>, facilitated by Realije and Lost is Found. There will also be an extended exhibition running in the Gladstone Gallery from\u00a0January 3-12\u00a0featuring Ananda Gabo, Florence Yee, Shellie Zhang, Arezu Salamzadeh, Jade Cheng, Christie Carri\u00e8<\/a>re. This Long Winter celebration honouring anti-gentrification art and activism will be embedded with accessibility; a resounding community-care takeover of the hotel, featuring disability justice meme screen content by Access Centered Movement and artist Sharona Franklin.\u00a0

Musical performances include improvisational experimental DJ and producer\u00a0Korea Town Acid, Toronto\u2019s premiere hip hop and R&B party hosts and community forum\u00a0Boosie <\/strong>Fade, the power-pop rock four-piece\u00a0Kiwi jr., experimental multi-instrumentalist\u00a0Joseph Shabason, punk psych band\u00a0BBQ Pope\u00a0and more.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
