Featuring previously released <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hivemindpr.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=04780c244c226dd8f0096243b&amp;id=0cadb5ef44&amp;e=998dd35436\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Get Buff<\/em><\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hivemindpr.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=04780c244c226dd8f0096243b&amp;id=1f2f39d90c&amp;e=998dd35436\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Jewellery<\/em><\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"AA (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/shady-nasty-share-video-for-aa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>AA<\/em><\/a>. The band\u00a0have also shared the new video for <em>77SUNK<\/em>, the final track lifted from the new EP. The opening lyric \u201cBad posture\u201d refers to Stathis\u2019\u00a0 [Kevin, guitar\/vocals] hunched back of which he is constantly reminded by his relatives who tell him to \u2018straighten up\u2019. This directive offers a glimpse of the rigid notions of how one should live that his immigrant family have tried to impress upon him. Importantly, Shady Nasty presents a new path that many of Stathis\u2019 friends and family would not be able to understand.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video &#8220;<em>explores the collision of urban and regional spaces that the band experienced on their first tour of the East Coast of Australia; highways marked by freight trucks glitch and blur with powerlines that extend over kilometres of bush land.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sydney trio\u00a0Shady Nasty\u00a0take an unconventional approach to the ever-transforming landscape of their city. <em>\u201cWe feel disconnected within our music scene. We sound different to every band here, but at the same time, we write about our life and our experiences, so in a way it is Sydney-based,\u201d <\/em>muses Kevin Stathis, vocalist and guitarist. <em>&#8220;We live in a globalized world, we can see what&#8217;s going on in the United States and the UK, but we view it through a different lens,&#8221;<\/em> continues drummer Luca Watson. &#8220;<em>We want to reinvent it. There\u2019s a legacy of Australian rock bands who thrive on the local, idiosyncratic reference stuff, but I am not interested in extending that legacy. I want to do something different.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With backgrounds in jazz and classical music,\u00a0Shady Nasty\u00a0subvert expectations. Inspired by the likes of\u00a0Show Me The Body,\u00a0King Krule,\u00a0Iceage,\u00a0Low Life\u00a0and\u00a0Mount Kimbie, the Sydney trio play an energetic and weirdo breed of punk that skirts the boundaries of the genre, driving\u00a0at an intersection of hardcore, hip hop and post-punk. Their unconventional approach resulted in signing with\u00a0Royal Mountain<strong> <\/strong>Records\u00a0and\u00a0Inertia Music\u00a0for their EP,\u00a0\u2018Bad Posture\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modding cars. Chinese heritage.
