{"id":34726,"date":"2020-08-02T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-02T16:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=34726"},"modified":"2020-08-02T07:16:09","modified_gmt":"2020-08-02T11:16:09","slug":"goldie-launches-timeless-capsule-to-celebrate-25th-anniversary-of-groundbreaking-album-timeless","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=34726","title":{"rendered":"Goldie launches &#8216;Timeless Capsule&#8217; to celebrate 25th anniversary of groundbreaking album &#8216;Timeless&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Goldie&#8217;s groundbreaking album\u00a0&#8216;Timeless&#8217; turned 25 this week, and to celebrate Clifford Joseph Price \u2014 the pioneering producer and DJ better known as Goldie announces a \u2018Timeless Capsule&#8217;, set to be active for the remainder of the anniversary year.<br><br>The website and portal will explore and celebrate a masterpiece of an album that since its release on\u00a0July 31<sup>st<\/sup> 1995\u00a0remains foundational to the evolution of British dance music and will include exclusive access to interviews with collaborators, unseen 1995 footage, archival photography and much more to come.<br><br>Subscribers to the website will initially be given download access to both the Peshay remix of <em>Inner City Life<\/em> and an exclusive interview between Goldie and Pete Tong who originally signed the record to his label FFRR back in the mid 90\u2019s.<br><br>The campaign will also see entirely re-mastered and re-packaged 25-year anniversary Vinyl, CD and digital editions of the album released. More news of this to come towards the end of 2020.<br><br>Goldie who rose to prominence during the nineties through pivotal albums \u2018Timeless\u2018 and \u2018Saturnz Return,\u2019 collaborated with everyone from David Bowie to KRS-One and launched his (still operational) Metalheadz label.<br><br>A complex debut album,\u00a0\u2018Timeless\u2019 founded a new chapter in the history of the electronic genre originally reaching no. 7 in the charts and has since been celebrated for its unique blend of sublime strings, beautiful atmospheres and sophisticated vocals. Inarguably an ambitious blueprint at the time; Goldie\u2019s production in 1995 fashioned the edgy rhythms and bass of jungle into a newly futuristic model, now globally admired as drum &amp; bass.<br><br>To celebrate the milestone, the music video <em>Inner City Life<\/em> that features vocals by\u00a0British singer Diane Charlemagne, has been painstakingly digitally remastered from the original negatives.
