The DC band have been kicking around for a couple years now, with a handful of singles and EP&#8217;s under their belt. Their latest feels like a fully realized vision of their 90&#8217;s indebted sound &#8211; guitars are tuned beyond recognition and feedback swirls liberally, invoking&nbsp;\u2018Daydream Nation\u2018&nbsp;era Sonic Youth comparisons and the raw combination of shoegaze and punk that The Swirlies weilded so expertly. The EP is proceeded by the singles <em>Angel 5<\/em> and <em>No Brakes<\/em>, two dense slabs of feedback packed with enough twists and turns to keep the attention of even casual listeners. Theirs is a powerful wall of sound, propelled by Matt and Jamie\u2019s fuzzed-out, alternatively tuned guitars and driving basslines, and Trae\u2019s powerful, virtuosic, and musical drumming.
