The video was shot in Portland, OR with Fisk Agency&nbsp;(Toro Moi, etc)&nbsp;and directed by Noah Porter. Merging the quintessential melodies of pop&#8217;s past with contemporary touches, Hot Flash Heat Wave creates their own sonic world.<br>\u00a0<br><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s the first record where we felt fully in charge of our sound and direction,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>Davis comments on the creative strides made on\u00a0\u2018Mood Ring\u2019.\u00a0<em>&#8220;We were writing more personal music, letting go of ideas about what we should sound like and exploring vulnerable, exciting places.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>And the future only seems brighter from here: with a new LP coming in 2021, Hot Flash Heat Wave is preparing for the next step up the staircase in their absolute blast of a sonic trip, with determination to elevate their craft in the process.\u00a0\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br><em>&#8220;Everyone wants to be able to listen to a song they relate to when they&#8217;re feeling down,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>Abildgaard says when discussing the band&#8217;s dedication to their music.\u00a0<em>&#8220;When we write these songs, it&#8217;s like a healing experience for me, and that&#8217;s what I want others to feel too.\u201d<\/em><br>\u00a0<br>Last year, the band also partnered with\u00a0Oxfam\u00a0to release a cover of The Smiths\u2019<em> This Night Has Opened My Eyes<\/em> with 100% of the proceeds donated to fund their refugee\/migrant crisis work.
