Released May 14th 2021\u00a0via independent record label Reckless Yes, the record will be available on cream\/smoked vinyl and \u2018lucky dip\u2019 eco vinyl, CD, and digital. Watch the <em>Overbite<\/em> video clip via YouTube below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iONqJoLfRLE?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With its evocative and playful video created by\u00a0illustrator and animator Jono Ganz, the track is a love song to anybody with a fear of the dentist, and a reminder that you are perfect just as you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the track, the band said:&nbsp;<em>\u201cSomehow, for a song that\u2019s pretty much about a) fancying someone with wonky teeth and b) a little mantra to remind you that you\u2019re perfect exactly as you are, this turned out sounding like gothy surf-rock, or as Healey said when we were working on it, \u2018like every My Chemical Romance song being played at the same time.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe decided to double down: synths, gang vocals and pick scrapes, oh my! This is one of the most uplifting, happy songs we\u2019ve written, and by bookending the album with big joyful explosions, maybe it\u2019ll do something to soothe the collective woe we\u2019ve all been living through. We\u2019re also incredibly excited that the amazing Jono Ganz is bringing our gothy-surf-rock vision to life with the animated music video.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking place in a spooky fairground, the video is all about a central character who becomes totally besotted with the grumpy vampire on the ghost train.&nbsp;<em>\u201cHalf this band are total Halloween obsessives and we loved the vintage spooky \u2018beistle\u2019 style that Jono created\u2014all deep oranges and browns and blacks,\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>say the band.&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe also loved seeing ourselves represented by a retro skeleton band, complete with grill mic and upright bass! This video suits the song so well\u2014we couldn\u2019t stop smiling when Jono sent it over, and we hope it brings you a ton of joy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on working with the band, director Ganz said:\u00a0<em>\u201cI was super happy to be able to add to the Retro Cartoon Fightmilk canon (following Healey&#8217;s beautiful Charlie Brown Xmas EP art). We shared all the same visual references, and it was a real treat having my inbox filled with spooky skeletons and cursed-looking amusement parks. Their first two EPs \u2013 one self-released in 2016 (The Curse of Fightmilk), and the next (Pity Party) put out through uber-indie label Fierce Panda \u2013 strode ahead of signing to Reckless Yes for the release of their first album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their 2018 debut LP \u2018Not With That Attitude\u2019 was released on limited edition pink vinyl, CD and digital, gaining a fan in Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music) as well as praise from Echoes and Dust, Drowned in Sound, and Louder Than War Magazine, appearing in many end of year picks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now sold out (but still available digitally of course), their debut is well loved by listeners and critics alike who recognised a perfectly written set of alt-rock tunes capturing the chaos and shambles of relationships wrapped in anthemic power-pop riffs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the band planned to take their time crafting forthcoming second album \u2018Contender,\u2019 they hadn\u2019t factored in a global pandemic and the delays it would cause. Marking a maturing of their sound the record also sees a step-change in their writing and recording, as they welcomed new member Healey (formerly of Wolf Girl) on bass, and took a more collaborative approach than past efforts.\u00a0<br><br>Like the writing process, recording also took more time, again thanks to Covid-19.
