TRAAMS have announced a limited edition 12″ EP entitled \u20184 Songs\u2019, which is being released on Bandcamp\u00a0Friday (April 2nd)\u00a0via FatCat Records.

The EP is limited to just 300 copies on black vinyl and features their critically acclaimed 2020 singles The Greyhound<\/em> and Intercontinental Radio Waves<\/em>, as well as an exclusive new single called Karma Cat<\/em> and A House On Fire<\/em>, which has never been pressed to vinyl before.

TRAAMS sound has always been\u00a0part motorik drum beats, part discordant guitars, pop melodies and hypnotic bass lines. All are present in the four tracks being released on the new EP, all recorded by Theo Verney in Brighton. Collaborating with friends and new instrumentation, each track is different from the last, but all sound like the inimitable TRAAMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, with two critically acclaimed albums already released through long-term label FatCat, TRAAMS put out a final – and\u00a0wonderful – one-off single in “A House On Fire”, and then, a handful of touring\u00a0shows aside:\u00a0nothing. They didn’t break up, they didn’t announce their\u00a0hiatus, but after several years as a band came to a head, they decided to put their focus elsewhere, on their families, on their home lives, and\u00a0simply return to their instruments when they felt ready again\u00a0and for the right reasons.

And in 2020, a torrid year by anyone’s reckoning, they found themselves ready – in improbable circumstances –\u00a0to do so. The 10 minute A House On Fire <\/em>was followed up by their first material since in the similarly expansive The Greyhound<\/em> which clocked in at nearly 9 minutes this time. A propulsive, three-part thriller of a song, featuring Lewis Evans of Black Country, New Road on sax,\u00a0it saw TRAAMS’ return heralded enthusiastically by both press and radio internationally. Landing as it did in\u00a0a completely different landscape, socially and musically, The Greyhound<\/em> was rightly welcomed with open arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
