As such, the Lithuanian trio have absorbed alternative and progressive rock, black metal, noise, and funk, to create a curiously addictive new sound\u2014often little more than chants laid over menacing, hypnotic riffs, their songs are as fascinating as they are visceral.\u00a0<br><br>Queens of The Stone Age\u00a0and\u00a0Primus\u00a0are cited as key musical influences, and their style also contains echoes of\u00a0Beastie Boys\u2019 wackiness and the post-hardcore sonic assault of\u00a0Rollins Band.<br><br>Since the release of their 2018 debut album\u00a0\u2018Tanzen,\u2019 Timid Kooky have travelled back and forth across Europe tirelessly, imprinting their name into the Baltic music scene and flirting with international festivals including MENT Ljubljana (SI), Liverpool Sound City (UK), SKIFF (RU), ENEA Spring Break (PL), Monkey Week (ES), Eurosonic (NL) and others.\u00a0Their latest ambition sees them setting their sights on the UK.\u00a0<br><br><em>\u201cI would say the UK alternative\/punk music scene has been a huge inspiration both music and mentality-wise,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0says guitarist Dovydas Subi\u010dius.\u00a0<em>\u201cIdles have been sort of a personal hero to me ever since I saw them live for the first jaw-dropping time. Other bands that came to mind right now are\u00a0Squid, USA Nails, Girls In Synthesis, to name a few.
