As Jamie Stewart puts it:\u00a0<em>\u201cWhile recording bass parts for the song \u2018OH NO\u2019 (feat. the venerable Susanne Sachsse) with Greg Saunier and Jherek Bischoff they both kept making jokes about how the perfect video for it would be clips of people slipping on banana peels. Obviously this is a good idea. However, to my surprise there really are not that many. Numerous other fail videos come up instead. Do not drive your truck on a frozen lake, drink from a lake inhabited by crocodiles if you are a cheetah, do not do ANYTHING at all if you are under the age of 3.\u201d<\/em><br><br>Watch the video clip for <em>OH NO<\/em> directed by Xiu Xiu via YouTube below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ysmhsfoqd5s?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Stewart, \u2018OH NO\u2019 was born from betrayal but now exists thanks to the\u00a0<em>\u201cprofound rediscovery of community and friendship.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0It features collaborations with a wide plethora of artists including Sharon Van Etten, Chelsea Wolfe, Alice Bag, Haley Fohr of Circuit des Yeux, Owen Pallett, Twin Shadow, along with members of Deerhoof, Drab Majesty, Liars, Shearwater, and many more.<br><br><em>\u201cThe guest stars of \u2018OH NO\u2019 reflect the types of people, and many of the very same, who helped remind me that the ratio of beautiful humans to shitty humans is more like 60\/40 rather than what I have always assumed was 1\/99,\u201d<\/em>says Jamie Stewart.\u00a0<em>\u201cAlthough there is an \u2018I HATE PEOPLE\u2019 pin on my guitar strap, I hate them less now.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>His revelation, and the music that has come out of it, is a reminder of the power of Xiu Xiu\u2019s music to surprise and connect. Listening to the songs on \u2018OH NO,\u2019 it is hard to feel truly alone.
