{"id":37280,"date":"2021-08-04T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T16:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=37280"},"modified":"2021-08-01T06:56:55","modified_gmt":"2021-08-01T10:56:55","slug":"deadletter-release-new-single-monday-night-terrors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=37280","title":{"rendered":"DEADLETTER release new single \u2018Monday Night Terrors\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>DEADLETTER&nbsp;have released their new single <em>Monday Night&nbsp;Terrors<\/em>.&nbsp;Hailing from Yorkshire, the&nbsp;now South London rooted band channel the droll fury of&nbsp;The Fall&nbsp;and the lopsided rhythm of&nbsp;Gang of Four&nbsp;into a strain of vehement post-punk, exploring the darker side of existence through a lens of narrative-driven levity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously&nbsp;supporting the likes of&nbsp;Squid, Viagra Boys&nbsp;and&nbsp;Avalanche Party, DEADLETTER have&nbsp;emerged&nbsp;as a genuinely thrilling live prospect.&nbsp;Experts in the field of intensity, the band&nbsp;seamlessly switch&nbsp;from conversational verses into unadulterated post-punk fury, addressing&nbsp;themes such as&nbsp;bureaucracy,&nbsp;loss of personal identity, &nbsp;and modern-day consumerism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New single <em>Monday Night&nbsp;Terrors<\/em>,&nbsp;produced by&nbsp;Theo Verney&nbsp;(TRAAMS, Lazarus Kane,&nbsp;FEET), finds singer and frontman Zac Lawrence recounting a horrifying bout of nightmares, amidst a exhilarating battery of brass-fuelled&nbsp;post-punk and dub-infused spatial warping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the new, self-released single, Zac notes:&nbsp;<em>\u201cMonday Night&nbsp;Terrors is a response to a severely terrifying series of early-hours nightmares I experienced.&nbsp;I had three dreams within one another, like three Russian-doll polythene bags wrapped around my head.
