AUSTIN PSYCH FEST has announced lineup additions + kick off parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news follows LEVITATION winning\u00a0Best Festival\u00a0in\u00a0The Austin Chronicle\u2019s\u00a0Music Awards, as voted by the Austin public, taking home the top fest award for the 3rd year in a row ahead of music festival juggernauts like SXSW and ACL Fest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LEVITATION follows up their award winning Halloween festival with\u00a0AUSTIN PSYCH FEST\u00a0this Spring, a throwback to the event\u2019s 1960s psychedelic rock inspired beginnings, and showcasing an eclectic and diverse lineup of psychedelic rock, dream pop, and indie rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weekend kicks off with a night stacked high with local legends of Latin psych, Afrobeat, jazz and good vibes:\u00a0GOLDEN DAWN ARKESTRA \u2022 CARAMELO HAZE \u2022 JARON MARSHALL (of BLACK PUMAS) \u2022 CAZAYOUX \u2022 THE POINT\u00a0taking over two stages at Empire, plus an evening of classic psych \/ garage with\u00a0CHRISTIAN BLAND & THE REVELATORS (of The Black Angels)\u00a0and\u00a0GUS BALDWIN & THE SKETCH\u00a0at 13th Floor. Both shows are free with a Deluxe 3 Day Pass!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Friday night shows have been announced – Toronto noise punks\u00a0METZ\u00a0return to Austin for an APF night show\u00a0on April 26\u00a0with\u00a0GOUGE AWAY\u00a0at Parish, and indie rockers\u00a0JOY <\/strong>AGAIN\u00a0and\u00a0LUNA LI\u00a0co-headline Empire Control Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWEEPING PROMISES\u00a0lead up a list of new lineup additions for the lineup on the festival grounds at The Far Out Lounge, along with local talent\u00a0ALEX MAAS, THOR & FRIENDS, LARGE BRUSH COLLECTION\u00a0and\u00a0VAN MARY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AUSTIN PSYCH FEST\u00a0will be held\u00a0April 26-28, 2024, in its original single location format and Spring timeframe with an intimate setting and two stage lineup at South Austin\u2019s\u00a0The Far Out Lounge<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 an outdoor venue with a 100 year history. Austin Psych Fest brings the old school vibe of the original event back outdoors and under the stars and oak trees in the venue’s sprawling backyard. The lineup offers up an international slate of psych rock, dream pop, and indie rock, with a nod to the 1960s golden era of psychedelia and an eye toward the future. The trees, stage, and venue will be drenched and dripping in the liquid light and visuals of a host of visual artists and video projectionists from Austin and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin Psych Fest\u00a0began in 2008, as a DIY event produced by The Black Angels and friends, and quickly expanded over the years into an international destination for the \u00a0underground music scene. The event was renamed\u00a0LEVITATION, in a nod to the Austin\u2019s psychedelic rock godfathers The 13th Floor Elevators, who reunited to play the event in 2015. Austin Psych Fest returned in April 2023 celebrating its 15 year anniversary with a 3 day throwback to the original multi-stage, single venue format – bringing an intimate gathering on the Spring side of the calendar, and LEVITATION in the Fall. APF is here to stay, taking over\u00a0The Far Out Lounge\u00a0the weekend of\u00a0APRIL 26-28, 2024. APF honors the city\u2019s 1960s psychedelic rock heritage and brings it into the here and now – bringing tripped-out sounds to an appropriately laid-back South Austin setting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
