British indie-rock favourites The Kooks<\/strong> are back, delivering their most accomplished album yet. \u2018Never\/ Know\u2019 arrives on May 9th via Virgin Music Group<\/strong>, marking a return to their signature anthemic songwriting while embracing fresh influences and timeless sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first single, Never Know<\/em>,<\/strong> setting the tone for the record with its irresistible groove and infectious energy<\/strong>. Lyrically, it captures the excitement of an unpredictable romance, its chorus ringing with the mantra: \u201cYou never know, never know, never know.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a love song about a meet-cute with someone completely unexpected,\u201d<\/em> says frontman Luke Pritchard<\/strong>. \u201cI like the idea of it playing in a convertible on a road trip somewhere ridiculous. Because really\u2014you never know.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That introspection led to a record that nods to the band\u2019s early magic while exploring bold new directions<\/strong>. From the Motown-inspired rhythms<\/strong> of the title track to the soulful backing vocals<\/strong> on Sunny Baby<\/em>, \u2018Never\/Know\u2019 is a celebration of classic songwriting with a modern twist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Timeless Band for a New Generation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Though The Kooks helped define indie rock in the 2000s, they\u2019ve never stopped evolving<\/strong>\u2014and their music continues to find new audiences<\/strong>. Today, nearly half of their core listeners are 18-24-year-olds<\/strong>, proving that their songs still resonate across generations<\/strong>.
