Carse\u2019s book <em>Finite and Infinite Games<\/em><\/strong>, the album\u2019s central question is simple: are you playing to win, or playing to keep going? <strong>Finite games<\/strong> have rules, winners, and losers. <strong>Infinite games<\/strong> never end\u2014the goal is to stay in the game. Crew puts it bluntly: <em>\u201cSo much unnecessary suffering happens when a person plays a finite game in an infinite game scenario.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across twelve tracks, <strong>Consumables<\/strong> wrestle with these ideas through a blistering mix of post-punk anthems and slacker-infused melodies.<em> <strong>Great Design<\/strong><\/em> takes on the friction between technology, selfhood, and authenticity. <strong><em>Ten Toes Down<\/em><\/strong> digs into the high-stakes drama of keeping a relationship alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bassist <strong>Miles Fox<\/strong> and drummer <strong>Hector Guillen<\/strong> create a rhythm section that pulses with urgency. Guillen, who honed his chops in Panama\u2019s prog scene, and Fox, whose synth-pop leanings add a striking contrast to Crew\u2019s wiry punk instincts, deliver some of the album\u2019s most gripping moments. On <strong><em>Emotional Speedball<\/em>,<\/strong> their tight, unpredictable interplay mirrors the highs and lows of lust.
